Site Page Administration

This section enables you to generate the content for the standard text pages with in your store; in addition it enables you to administrate your User Pages, News Articles and Guest book.

Standard Text Pages

There are eight standard text pages:

All use the same method for data entry, which is described below. However, if you are linking your TecknaShop store to a 'parent' site, you should not enter any text into the first four pages in the list (welcome through to contact), as non-entry removes the hyperlinks from all store menus (in conjunction with entry of a parent site URL as described in Personal Details).

Design Tip: The Terms and Conditions page will be accessible from the order confirmation form displayed to the shopper after they have finished shopping, (and before they transfer to WorldPay), so that these can be reviewed immediately prior to payment.

Adding Page Text

Select the page that you wish to change from the drop down list then depress the Add/Edit button. For each page, input boxes are displayed one at a time (for individual paragraphs and single words), into which either plain text or HTML can be entered.

Page formatting using plain text
For plain text, enter the text, and then select a text style (which can be defined in the Look and Feel, Fine Tuning section), leaving the 'HTML' box unchecked.

Click the Store Text button to accept your text entry and add a new empty next input box. In this way, paragraph after paragraph of text can be entered without having to learn HTML to achieve the effect. To reset the form, click on the Reset Form button.

To delete the image and all of the text check the Remove Text or Remove Image boxes and click the Store Text button. To replace the pages text with a default content check the Replace text below with system default box at the top of the menu.

Page formatting using HTML
Although standard page formatting exists as outlined above, you can also use HTML (the language used by designers to create web pages) in these input areas if you wish, by entering HTML formatted text, then checking the HTML checkbox prior to submission. Even if you don't know any HTML and are daunted by the thought of using a programming language, this is no more difficult than text formatting in a word processor. All you have to do is bracket the text to be formatted with HTML tags to achieve the desired effect(s). For example <h1> starts displaying text in a large size and </h1> turns the effect off again. The basic HTML tags, which should serve most users well, are as follows:

HTML Code

The word 'Example' appears....

<p>EXAMPLE</p>

in a single paragraph

<p align=right>EXAMPLE</p>

in a single paragraph aligned to the right

<p align=left>EXAMPLE</p>

in a single paragraph aligned to the left

<p align=center>EXAMPLE</p>

in a single paragraph aligned to the centre

<h1>EXAMPLE</h1>

as a large size header (with a line break after)

<h2> EXAMPLE</h2>

as a medium size header (with a line break)

<h3> EXAMPLE</h3>

as a small size header (with a line break)

<b>EXAMPLE</b>

appears emboldened

<I> EXAMPLE</I>

appears italicised

<center>EXAMPLE</center>

in the centre of the page

<p>EXAMPLE</p><br>

in a single paragraph but now has a break (or carriage return) after your text

<p>EXAMPLE</p><hr>

in a single paragraph but now has a horizontal rule across the page below the text.

TecknaShop VHTML tags
TecknaShop has an exclusive tag called
display. This tag can be modified and has many different uses, for example:

<display img=n> (where n = an image identifier)

This tag enables you to display any image from one of your libraries.

To use the above 'tags' simply enter your text between them (in place of EXAMPLE as shown above) in all cases but the horizontal rule, the line break and the image display (which do not need closing or / tags). You can also nest tags, as in the following example:

<center><p><b><i>EXAMPLE</i></b></p><br><display img=643></center>

This example would make the word EXAMPLE and the example image with the identifier of, say 643, appear in their own paragraph, text above image, emboldened, italicised, and centred.

If you are interested in learning more about HTML, contact your Click and Build provider, who should be able to recommend further reading material or courses. Alternatively, you can visit one of the numerous guides to HTML on the Web. Rest assured that if you do not know HTML, your Click and Build store will still look good and operate efficiently, as it is designed to accommodate both beginners as well as those who have HTML skills.

Click the Store Text button to accept your text entry and display anew input box. In this way, paragraph after paragraph of text can be entered without having to learn HTML to achieve the effect. To reset the form, click on the Reset Form button.

To delete the image and all of the text check the Remove Text or Remove Image boxes and click the Store Text button. To replace the pages text with a default content check the 'Replace text below with system default' box at the top of the menu.
